Freezer Performance - Technical Data
Freezer without OmniFresh (baseline)
As demonstrated in this 24 hour operational snapshot, this five year old stationary freezer is plagued by constant icing on the evaporator coils and throughout the space. Although scheduled maintenance and manual (physical) defrosting is performed approximately every three months, ice build up commences again as soon as the compressor is returned to service. Numerous adjustments to the thermostat and defrost program have been unsuccessful in mitigating the problem.
Note that the temperature plot line never approaches the set-point temperature. This is due to a near-constant “Continue to run” signal to the defrost controller; also a result of massive ice deposits.

Freezer with OmniFresh
Five days after installation of OmniFresh humidity is controlled within acceptable limits, and frost point has been stabilized so it tracks temperature eliminating the possibility of further icing.
The temperature plot ( Fahrenheit) shows regular defrost cycles with recovery of set-point, low temperature in every case. Notice that the temperature plot is much steeper after defrost. This indicates greatly reduced run-time required to achieve set-point and a significant reduction in energy usage. Defrost temperature which had ranged between 24 degrees and 30 degrees prior to installation stabilized around 16 degrees further enhancing energy savings.
This freezer’s compressor was reported to never shut off , automatically, in the last three years of operation until the addition of OmniFresh.

Freezer Performance Summary
Regardless of any subjective or convenience consideration, everyone has budget constraints. And stretching that budget is everyone’s prime directive. So, if a new expense is going to be considered at all, it better come with a predictable return that more than covers its cost and frees up budget for other uses.
The two charts on this page abstract test data from two large institutional freezers. The top freezer was in great distress prior to being treated with OmniFresh. Thirteen out of thirteen operational levels examined resulted in significant improvement. Combining the improvements in the Defrost functions with a dramatic reduction in actual Run Time produces an estimated reduction in energy consumed of at least 38% which will more than offset the cost of the product.
The bottom chart is from a well maintained freezer that was characterized as having “No problems”. Notice that defrost temperature has been reduced by 3.6 degrees F and defrost time by 70%. Total compressor “Run Time” is down by 26% as a result of the improved defrosting times and temperatures. Estimated energy savings is 31%.
